The life of a closer. 3 games pitched in. 1 win. 1 game which does not fall into any category even though it was worse than a blown save. 1 save.

Even though Wagner's statistics won't look dominating in the box score from last night, in reality he got squeezed on many pitches. Williams should have been caught looking on a pitch or two before the single.

ERA & WHIP aside, Wagner had a save and a win in the series and Rivera had a win and a loss. Another reason why closer statistics don't really tell the story of which pitcher was more effective in the series.
