George Brett can't be happy

The Royals went into the ninth inning last night winning 7-2. They lost 13-7. So now they're 26 games under .500 and 35 games out of first.

This was the franchise of George Brett, Frank White, Willie Wilson, and Dan Quisenberry! You can blame the economics of modern baseball only so much for this disaster. This team needs a new owner who will spend some money and a competent general manager.

After watching the highlights this morning on ESPN, I have 2 possible solutions to the Royals 9th inning debacle: Either they are a pathetic baseball team, or they are doing their best 1919 BlackSox impression.
Seriously, are they trying not to win? 2 errors on routine plays in the 9th is not good. It is a serious accusation to state that a team is trying not to win, yet I cannot think of any other team in recent history that resembled this. Oh wait, there is always the 1996 Jets. Where have you gone, Rich Kotite?
