I was one of those who penciled in Law starting at corner next weekend, probably against the Colts. Without him back there, even the most optimistic fan has to feel a little queasy about Randall Gay and Everland Moreland going against a Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.
Bill Belichick will probably devise a game plan next week to counter this, yet with Richard Seymour now possibly out also, it will be more difficult to put pressure on Manning. Maybe he and Romeo Crennel - if he can put his game face back on and not wine and dine with the 9'ers - will implement the same strategy as Super Bowl 36. Bump and run with constant nickel and dime packages. Yet even so the major issue is personnel, and it doesn't look good right now.

Please give me some more details about all this writing on the wall that you've been reading. Patriotsy2k discussed how the Law and Seymour injuries are problematic. But to say the "writing's been on the wall for some time," about a 14-2 team with a tough schedule sounds to be more about wishful thinking rather than analysis.
