Pittsburgh Steelers

First overall thoughts, then some matchup thoughts

Pro: Everything's going well for them-- offense, defense, special teams
Pro: Roethlisberger's been superb
Con: He's still a rookie, so we don't know how he'll respond to playoff pressure
Pro: Defense has been very good at stopping the run
Pro: 15-1 is impressive no matter what
Con: They only beat three playoff teams, and one of those teams was the Jets
Con: Cowher's team have been guilty before of over confidence. May be making Super Bowl reservations rather than game planning

If they play the Chargers...
Pro: Chargers have had a great season, but I still have a tough time worrying about a team led by Drew Brees and Marty Schottenheimer.
Con: The Chargers defense slowed down the Colts for a half so that could mean they could slow down another offense for a game.
Pro: Bad weather could hurt the Chargers
Con: The Chargers played well in a snowstorm (I know it was in Cleveland, but at least they showed up).
Con: The Steelers have not faced a running back as talented as Ladainian Tomlinson this season

If they play the Colts or Pats...
Pro: Home field advantage
Con: Haven't played against an offense as talented as the Colts, or a Pats team without so many injured stars.

Closing Thoughts:
The Steelers have everything a team needs to make it to the Super Bowl, and that's why most pundits are predicting them to win it all. Just remember, Cowher's teams have self destructed before. They look like a Super Bowl team; they also look like a team who could lose their first game because players were too busy bragging to the press and making plans for the next opponent.
